PRLog -- Bentley Allen...SLUGZZ gets a call from his click partner Jack Scratch. He has some hot new tracks from a producer he works with. They set up studio time...a studio that is a converted room in Scratch’s small home in Murphy North Carolina. When they start work Scratch puts on the track and SLUGZZ is bobbing his head to the naked beat. Life for these two talented artists includes some steps that had taken them down the attractive but dangerous and illegal life of drug retailing both on the streets of Orange County Florida to Chattanooga Tennessee. These decisions yielded the ultimate price of both artist having been in trouble and serving time. They both now have their mistakes behind them, and are moving on with their lives which includes raising two young children between the two of them. From these experiences comes a catching “hook” where Bentley lays down these words...”they don’t understand...throwed in the game.” Why do so many young black men end up in that game you might ask? The answer lays in the cards they were delt along with living in a society that never really included their culture. It takes two and tree times the work ethic and a lot of selling out for a black man to find success in white America. The plan never included young black men. Tony Shannon the CEO of their label is a college graduate and former Army Officer and he even with all his accomplishments found himself always being treated with a double standard during his 15 year sales career in Atlanta Georgia. “I’m not making excuses for breaking the law...but why would a person want to get up at 4:30am every morning for 15 years to go to an office that they don’t want to be at, to see people they don’t want to see and deal with rejection all day both internally and externally in exchange for a pay check that does not nearly reflect the compensation due to them for the work and revenues they brought to the company”...says Tony. They Don’t Understand is an answer to that question...The single is a smooth catchy song that delivers a message that all people both black and white can relate to.
