Dec. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Already the leader in the Juniper Lumber and Wood Products Industry, selling both wholesale and retail products made from the utilization of western juniper, Juniper Works l.l.c. and its subsidiary, West Coast Juniper Distributing are working closely with the owners of AlTree inc. to bring a new manufacturing facility within minutes of their own to Chiloquin, Oregon. Not only will this help to expand the use for western juniper, but it will also bring up to 65 new jobs to one of Oregon's most financially distressed cities. AlTree inc. a subsidiary of P&M Signs located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has developed a new wood composite that can use juniper biomass and recycled plastic. Partnering up with the U.S. Forest Service Laboratories owner Phil Archuletta Altree has developed a new plastic lumber composite made from pine or juniper wood fibers and recycled plastic milk bottles. It offers many benefits compared to solid wood for meeting your non-structural outdoor needs. No more expensive to purchase than plywood, Altree saves you money with its low maintenance and replacement costs.
Altree uses all parts of pine, juniper, or invasive shrubs, including bark, branches, and needles. It uses trees that must be cleared to reduce risk of catastrophic wildfires
It aids in the removal and use of invasive woody shrubs, restores watershed quality, provides an economically viable use for recycled thermoplastics, and reduces waste buried in landfills
Altree is currently available for such uses as Interior signs, recognition plaques, dimensional letters, spindles, tool handles and Molded parts.
The product is made from scrub or tree species that have no value or that do more harm than good to the ecosystem. These tree species are combined with a recycled plastic to form the product. When the Altree product is no longer needed, it can be totally recycled into another form and re-used without a loss in properties. Altree also possesses superior moisture and decay resistance properties, yet uses no synthetic or environmentally harmful chemicals.
Hoping to get the facility operating by the spring of 2010, its completion will bring a new product line into West Coast Juniper Distributing's already impressive inventory of products including juniper dimensional lumber, flooring, wall paneling, decking, posts, ornamental juniper, furniture, gift items and a new line of body care items all of which use some form of juniper ingredients.
