While the Chiefs may be a slightly improved team from the start of the season, they're still overmatched against a team with a lot of offensive weapons, as they showed in last week's blowout loss against the Chargers.

Denver's drive to earn a playoff berth by either winning the AFC West championship or claiming a wild-card spot should get a boost because the Broncos' finishing schedule includes two games against the floundering Chiefs.

If the Broncos are to win the division title, a win on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium is a must. If they lose in Kansas City, the Broncos would most likely fall two games behind the Chargers in the division race.

The Chiefs have been hideous to watch in their first year under coach Todd Haley. But two recent developments, the acquisition of wide receiver Chris Chambers and the promotion into the starting lineup of running back Jamaal Charles, have made the Chiefs more difficult to defend. Charles is a triple threat as a runner, receiver and kickoff returner while Chambers has delivered many big plays in the passing game.

Denver's Elvis Dumervil leads the league in sacks with 14 and could extend his lead of 1.5 sacks over his closest pursuer, Minnesota's Jared Allen. Chiefs quarterbacks have been sacked 38 times, the second-highest total in the league.

What happening?

While the Chiefs may be a slightly improved team from the start of the season, they're still overmatched against a team with a lot of offensive weapons, as they showed in last week's blowout loss against the Chargers. The Broncos may not be as stocked as San Diego, but between Brandon Marshall, Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter and Eddie Royal, they still qualify as an offensive team far too deep for the Chiefs to handle. Unless the Chiefs can dominate on special teams or win the turnover battle by a large margin, look for the Broncos pull away.
