Pomona, CA – ENKOUTR Clothing, has gone from a word of mouth buzz, to a viable fashion line in the face of a barely recovering economy. The casual clothing line created by long time Pomona, California resident Jermon Richardson has successfully found its niche market.
“Creating any kind of successsful product or business relies heavily on simply knowing what people want. When it came to fashion I sat back and listened to those around me and realized there was a void that needed to be filled”, says Richardson.
ENKOUTR Clothing targets the urban audience, and prides itself on creating designs that highlight hip hop culture, and the achievements of prolific minorities. The line also sets itself apart by using absolutely no templates. Each design is unique and hand drawn by Richardson, which Richardson says is now a rare practice due to the ease of using premade design templates. Concepts for designs are derived from everyday conversations and news events.
ENKOUTR Clothing has a largely underground following, which continues to grow via word of mouth and social networking. Each new shipment has been selling out within a couple of weeks and customers have been quickly submitting requests to preorder items based solely on the concept art.
ENKOUTR Clothing will be presenting designs to the general public for the first time at the Wonder No More Fashion Show & Holiday Boutique Sunday December 6th, 2009 in Orange, California. The event is focused on collecting donated items for charity. Show attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods, for the non-profit Cory’s Kitchen. Attendees may also bring new socks and new scarves which will be collected and donated to the non-profit At the Door “For an Audience of One”, which works to provide scarves and socks to impoverished families in Africa.
“One of my missions is to make a difference in our communities, especially inner city and underprivileged areas. So it’s only fitting that our public debut take place at an event where participants are expected to give back in some way”, says Richardson.
