Seafood Of The Month Club Makes A Difference By Helping Feed The Hungry

PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 05, 2009 – Seafood Of The Month Club is donating high quality food to area food banks, to help feed those in need this holiday season.

According to Rosemarie Ramirez, Vice President at Seafood of the Month Club, “These are difficult times we live in, and there are a growing number of people going hungry every day,” she stated. “We all must pitch in and lend a helping hand wherever we can to help those in need.”

The Seafood of the Month Club plans on providing fresh and frozen seafood to the food banks.  “We are not donating our leftovers or extra cuts,” Ramirez stated. “We are actually buying more product than we need to fill our orders, and then donating it to the food banks.”

The company is also issuing a challenge to other local businesses. “There are many companies in the area that are far bigger than us, and I hope that they will see that they have a social obligation to help those in their communities. I look around us in Los Angeles and Orange County and I see the headquarters of a major retail jewelry chain, the corporate offices of several automotive manufacturers, and some of the most profitable companies in the nation, to name a few. These companies, and many others should find it in their hearts to give this holiday season.”

The Seafood of the Month Club, like many businesses, makes the lion’s share of their revenues during the holiday season.

“Let’s face it,” Ramirez commented. “Business is way down for most of us, and everyone is hurting. But if you can go to bed each night with a full stomach when there are men, women and children that go to bed hungry all around you, then you should try to dig down deep to find ways to help those that are hurting much more than you or your company.’
