Ming-Na first received critical acclaim for her lead role in the hit movie “The Joy Luck Club”, and later, for her starring role as Dr. Deb Chen in the NBC Drama series “ER”. To children though, Ming-Na is the voice of Mulan in two Disney Films.
Ming-Na was born in China about 40 miles from Hong Kong. She emmigrated to the United States at age four. Later on, she would graduate with honors from Carnegie Mellon Uniersity in Pittsburgh, PA. With a degree in theater. Soon thereafter, Ming-Na fullfilled her dream of performing on Broadway in the Tony Nominated play “Golden Child”.
Ming-Na made history as the first Asian-American to play a regular character on a daytime Soap in “As The World Turns”. Today, she remains as a role model, and was recently selected as one of the “100 Most Inspiring Asian–Americans of All-Time”.
