More than 200 schools of Latvia write on school boards made by family enterprise OTAFS. In the near future more schoolchildren will join them from other countries. Since 1994 the company has made more than 3000 school boards, becoming the Latvian leader in this segment.
Sergey Kiselyov has started his family business 15 years ago in Ogre. Bad quality of a school board on a workplace of the Sergey Kiselyov`s wife - at school, became a push for business creation. It has set thinking, what should be in school board to provide convenient use in educational process.
After a several experiments, the demanded design and a material have been found, and the first improved school board is made. Because of high quality, he receives orders from other classes, and schools. Essential advantages were found out in OTAFS boards. Their working surface only improved in due course, the chalk left an accurate and clear trace which can be easily erased. It occurred because the surface is made of a special glass material which will serve more than 15 years.
“The success of our work depends not only on production”. said Majga Brence, Sergey Kiselyov's daughter, OTAFS sales representative, “Being small, family business, we try to maintain warm, friendly relations with each client. All production becomes manually and under the individual order. All teachers have special wishes. Despite crisis, we work over expansion of family business and we wish To begin sales abroad Latvia. In the beginning of 2009, we have made decision to make production for export. Using support of the Latvian Agency of Investments and Development, OTAFS has started search of partners abroad. At present, negotiations with businessmen from Lithuania are carried on, also there is a search of partners in Estonia, and offers on cooperation from Scandinavia are studied”.
Thanks to participation in foreign exhibitions, company production has interested foreign partners, therefore the company does not exclude possibility to export their «know-how» on the world market.
