INTEGRATIVE FLAVORS, manufacturer of Cook’s Delight soup bases and flavor concentrates has finalized design plans for it’s new manufacturing facility. The new facility will be located five minutes west of the current facility.
“The continued expansion of our line of soup bases and flavor concentrates and the increased demand for our Private Labeling services has caused us to outgrow our current facility”, said Georgeann Quealy, President of Integrative Flavors. “With the remodeling of our new facility we are able to incorporate energy conscious concepts while being sensitive to Green Design”. Changes with immediate impact include:
* Re-insulation of the entire building envelope to reduce energy usage
* Use of Energy-Star rated equipment on all new HVAC systems.
* Hi-efficiency water heaters
* Low flow water fixtures
* Energy efficient lighting fixtures
Integrative Flavors has partnered with Forum Architects from South Bend, Indiana to provide design and architectural support for the project. George Weber of Forum Architects indicated that they currently have three registered LEED AP’s on staff that are consulting on this project as well as a LEED Platinum Level Project that is currently under way. “Forum Architect’s expertise and practical design concepts have been extremely valuable during the design phase of this project”, said Brian Quealy, Vice President of Integrative Flavors. “Their guidance was instrumental in the layout of the facility as well as for the selection of appropriate equipment to make our operations more efficient.”
Casteel Construction Corporation will begin construction by the end of the year according to Dave Emmel of Casteel Construction. Integrative Flavors plans to move into the new facility during the Spring of 2010.
