Caribbean Education Foundation 2009 Benefit, “Jamaica Farewell” Boston Premiere - A Huge Success

The Caribbean Education Foundation Benefit Performance of “Jamaica Farewell” Play premiered with huge success in Boston on November 21, 2009! Proceeds raised from the benefit will provide scholarships to poor high school students in Jamaica.

The Caribbean Education Foundation's presentation of Jamaica, Farewell Play opened in Boston with rave reviews and strong support from the Massachusetts community. Proceeds raised from the benefit will provide scholarships to poor high school students in Jamaica for 2010 school year. The funds will pay school fees, books, supplies, meals and transportation.

The evening commenced with a VIP Reception of delicious Jamaican Cuisine catered by Pepper Pot Catering including Caribbean dishes: jerk chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, tofu and vegetable curry stew.  Dessert flowed with amazing Jamaican Rum Cake and Bread Pudding from Lenny’s Bakery.

A Silent Auction continued throughout the evening showcasing exotic Caribbean Vacations, Discount Airfares, Restaurant Gift Certificates and Sports Memorabila featuring sports greats such as: Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.

A Spectacular performance of Jamaica Farewell Play was presented by award-winning actress, Debra Ehrhardt to standing ovation!

After the Play, patrons proceed to the After Party Reception to meet the actress and listen to great roots reggae music by the Dis N’ Dat Band with electrifying performances by Los Angeles-based reggae artist, Bum Roots and Boston-based artists, Journalist Bandoo and Iron Zion.
