Dec. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- PowerQuick, Inc., Dayton NV,  announced today that they have reach an agreement with Fallprotec S.A. of Luxemburg  to distribute and maintain the PowerQuick Ascender product line throughout Europe, Russia and the surrounding area.

“We have been selling our Powered ascenders in Europe for the past few years through small companies in a couple of countries, but have handled most of the sales from the US,” said PowerQuick CEO Cathryn Jacobson. “In the past year our European sales have grown to the point that it is just not feasible to continue to sell from the US. It is difficult to provide the level of customer service our customers deserve and we needed to establish a full-service maintenance and recertification operation in Europe to service our expanding volume. Teaming with Fallprotect will allow us to expand to meet the European market needs. “

The PowerQuick Powered Personal Ascender, which was developed under a US Defense Advance Research Project Agency DARPA contract, is sold throughout the international climbing industry for technical rope access applications. “With companies throughout the world tightening their financial belts this past year we expected our sales to plummet, but have found many companies are turning to the PowerQuick Ascender as way to cut project expenses.  PowerQuick works like a personal elevator on a rope providing a cost-effective alternative to cranes or scaffolding for a lot of projects. It also increases worker safety in the process – both of which have proven to be important factors these days,” said Jacobson.

“Our business base and our technologies are very complimentary, said Jan-Erik Grothe, Fallprotec director.  Our business focus is on developing products for rigging and climbing safety for people who work at heights as well as a complete range of Fall Arrest and Personal Protective Equipment.   The PowerQuick ascender provides safe worker access. We have a network of distributors throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. We are very excited about adding the PowerQuick ascender to our arsenal of products”

Grothe and Francis Timmermans, both directors and partners in Fallprotec S.A. have extensive experience in the ascender market and more than 20 years of experience in hoisting systems for safe access.  Timmermans is a former chairman of the European Committee which established the EN 1808 standard for suspended access equipment. Fallprotec provides comprehensive maintenance service in their well-equipped Luxembourg facility, as well as Engineering Services on CAD and 3D-based programs to study all technical solutions in a professional manner.   Over the next few months the companies will be standing up the maintenance facility in Fallprotec’s Luxemburg office. Timmermans and PowerQuick chief engineer Michael Jacobson will also work on future product enhancements and designs.

”Teaming up with PowerQuick Inc. is another important step for Fallprotec to complete their range of products and to confirm their Quality Policy ‘…Quality is when the customer comes back ….and not the product….,’” said Grothe.

The PowerQuick Ascender was designed to be the safest powered personal climber in the industry and we will work with Fallprotec to ensure we maintain that position in the European market,” said Jacobson.

It allows personnel to work at heights or below platform operations with greater safety and less fatigue. This reduces chances of injury or death from accidental falls and extends the climbing career of dedicated rope access professionals. Uses standard rigging and equipment as for manual climbing. PowerQuick is the only ascender on the market that meets the new ANSI Z359 and international safety standards.
