These prestigious awards recognize the important up and coming internet projects that have significantly set themselves apart. This year the panel of judges was enriched with 80 Czech internet celebrities, all focused on selecting the most creative and innovative projects available on the market. The three awards chosen by the judges and the expert panel were; Project of the Year, Internet celebrity of the Year and Worst project of the Year. OnTheRoad.to was chosen among ten other projects in its category.
Marek Antoš, member of the expert panel and owner of "Internet Info" explains why he chose OnTheRoad.to:
"We see it as a great challenge," mentioned Michal Blaha, the CEO of OnTheRoad.to and added: "Year 2009 was a busy and very successful year for OnTheRoad.to. We introduced our service to the US market, received valuable feedback and media coverage at the TechCrunch50 conference and entered a couple strategic partnerships. We have been monetizing a bit, when we sold our platform as SaaS (Software as a service) to the Volkswagen group and Škoda Auto a.s. used it as a great marketing tool for their new SUV Yeti (http://www.MujYeti.cz)." Just couple of days ago TechCrunch.com posted a review of OnTheRoad.to, and the service was selected to the voting round of Mashable's Open Web Awards (http://mashable.com/
The outstanding team for OnTheRoad.to thinks big and their plans for year 2010 include new language localizations, premium travel services and the introduction of a new business vertical. "Our users will have a lot to look forward to!" said Michal Blaha.
