Although Mary Lou Metzger is best known as the girl who danced with Lawrence Welk at the end of his weekly television show, she is no stranger to other aspects of the entertainment industry.
Mary Lou will talk with Susan about her beginnings in “the business” at the age of just 7 yrs old. Her roles in musicals such as The Music Man - children’s television - and how she met Lawrence Welk and her memories of Mr. Welk and the show. She will also discuss her travels around the country singing the praises of Public Television, a cause very dear to her heart.
After listening to Mary Lou and Susan talk, it is obvious that Mr. Welk made a great decision in having Mary Lou Metzger join his musical family. It is also easy to hear why she is loved by her fans and fellow entertainers.
