Eau Claire, WI (November 23, 2009) - The Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is accepting nominations for the 2010 Paragon Economic Impact Award. The Paragon Award is given to a local business each year in recognition of excellence in the Eau Claire area. Past winners include: Menard, Inc. (2009), Minnesota Wire (2008), Luther-Midelfort – Mayo Health System (2007), Sacred Heart Hospital (2006), Hutchinson Technology (2005), Huebsch Services (2004), Nestlé (2003), and RCU (2002).
All businesses in Eau Claire County or the City of Eau Claire are eligible. The award will be presented at the EDC’s annual luncheon on Monday, February 15, 2010.
“Successful local businesses are the key to driving economic growth in the Eau Claire area,” states Brian Doudna, Executive Director of the EDC. “The Paragon Economic Impact Award is our opportunity to honor a business that positively impacts our residents, community, and economy.”
The winning business will be chosen based on their impact on the community in terms of creation of quality job opportunities, recent expansion or construction of a facility, commitment to the continued education and training of their workforce, support or involvement in community economic development activities, and/or innovations in the development of new technologies and products.
