FinSoul: Big business meets with Gordon Brown ahead of Copenhagen climate talks.

British Prime minister says he is grateful for the support of companies for low carbon transition.

Dec. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- FinSoul has learned that more than 850 of the globes largest businesses, including Vodafone, Shell, Unilever and Kingfisher are appealing to Gordon Brown to do his utmost to achieve a strong agreement at the upcoming Copenhagen climate conference.

The companies, all of whom are members of the Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group, will present their business case for a tough and legally binding global deal, highlighting their belief that economic development cannot be sustained without stabilizing the climate first.

FinSoul believes that the co-director of the group was quoted as saying that companies across all sectors in both developed and developing economies were united in the call for an ambitious deal to be achieved in Copenhagen.

"If it is possible for such a variety of companies to agree on the basic shape of an ambitious, robust and equitable global deal on climate change – surely it should now be possible for the world's governments to do the same?" he added.

The British Prime Minister, FinSoul understands, has recently said, "Our transition to a low carbon economy will be a key driver of our future economic prosperity.”

Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales has also recently announced his intention to travel to Copenhagen to call on world leaders to facilitate a strong deal.
