MORGANVILLE, NJ - Former Moody Blues Guitarist/Vocalist and Wings co-founder Denny Laine teamed up with Monmouth County's own Classic Rock band The Cryers will be performing on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 8 pm at The Monmouth Academy of Musical Arts in Morganville NJ. Denny and The Cryers will be performing some of his brilliant solo work plus playing hits from his Wings and Moody Blues days.

Guitarist, vocalist, and Birmingham, England native Denny Laine co-founded the British Invasion group The Moody Blues, singing their first monster hit "Go Now". In 1971, Denny was invited by former Beatle Paul McCartney to help form the band Wings. Denny provided lead & rhythm guitars, backing vocals, keyboards, bass, and writing skills. Denny, Paul and Linda McCartney formed the nucleus of the band. It was with Wings that Denny enjoyed the biggest commercial and critical successes of his career, including co-writing the smash hit "Mull of Kintyre".

One of America's premier independent veteran rock bands, the Cryers are known not only for their own hard-rocking rootsy sound but as favorites of the British Invasion artists that they accompany. They have performed with some of rock 'n roll's most influential members, such as Lawrence Juber of Wings. Denny Laine of The Moody Blues and Wings, Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies, Joey Molland of Badfinger, The Pete Best Band, Peter and Gordon, and Chad and Jeremy. Currently they are working on their second CD of original material titled "Rock 'n Roll Holiday."

In addition, the Cryers run the acclaimed Monmouth Academy of Musical Arts, a top-rated music teaching facility in Central New Jersey that offers instruction in music theory and performance as well as professional studio recording for a wide range of ages, skill levels and instruments. MAMA features more than 25 individual instruction rooms, recital room and group classroom, plus a technologically sophisticated recording and rehearsal studio. Teaching staff are composed of full-time professional musicians, graduates of Julliard, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Berklee College of Music and other prestigious schools of music.

Joe Orlando, bassist and the leader of the Cryers shares, "Working with Denny these past few years has been, and continues to be, an amazing experience. He is a gifted singer, songwriter and guitarist. He has undeniable credentials as one of the all time greats. His work with The Moody Blues, Paul McCartney and Wings as well as his various solo projects speaks for itself. He is humble and has a great sense of humor. We are indeed privileged."
