The Vendor application is one of the first of its kind. “I noticed there wasn’t a service available within Facebook to set up a shopping cart on a Fan page I was administering and so set about developing one”
Most companies have a Fan Page presence on Facebook, some with thousands of fans and use it as a marketing medium to keep in touch with customers.
The beauty of a Fan Page is that a customer opts in to receive updates from the supplier in question.
A natural progression to this is to offer products through the Fan Page at a discount, until now, this option was not available as there were no applications to do it.
The Vendor application adds a “Store” tab to the Fan Page. Within the tab the user can browse products, add them to a cart and checkout.
The payment gateway being used presently is PayPal with Google checkout and others under development.
The Vendor application is a free application and there are no hidden charges or transaction fees.
