Atlanta-based Power Entertainment wraps up 2009 with milestones that rival major label accomplishments. C.E.O., Kenny Kold, set out to assemble a powerhouse of talent when he started Power Entertainment. Kold, who is no stranger to music industry, having success in his group, C-Side, resolved to create a record label, reminiscent of the Motown and LaFace eras. Power Entertainment is the result of his vision, a full-service production studio (the Power Plant), a colorful panel of artists, talented songwriters, and innovative producers, assembled under the rewoP Music banner (Power spelled backwards).
The first artist out the gate is YouTube starlet and Soul/Pop sensation, Priscilla Renea. Her debut release, “Jukebox,”
Pussycat Dolls, Girlicious, Terell Carter, Ray Lavender, Raheem DeVaughn, and as the music director for Dwele.
Power Entertainment, founded in 2003, isn’t just making an impression in the Pop arena. With South Carolina rapper, Big Maine, Power is making a name in Hip Hop. Big Maine’s single, “Love ‘Bout Me,” which featured Lil Brod and Collard Green, had the southern radio airwaves buzzing. “Love ‘Bout Me,” was produced Power Entertainment super producer, Da Honorable C.N.O.T.E., who also adds songs by Young Money, Juelz Santana, Flo Rida, Trey Songz, the Pussycat Dolls, Girlicious, Gucci Mane, 2 Pistols, and Priscilla Renea to his credits.
Next on Power’s artist roster is crooner, Skinny Boy Blue, whose rugged exterior masks an indelible soulful sound. Like Priscilla, Blue also has a magnetic for songwriting, and is
currently in writing for Jesse McCartney.
Power’s production facility, the Power Plant, has housed some of the biggest names in music, since opening its doors last May, including, Kandi Burress, Verse Simmonds, Lil Scrappy, Playaz Circle, Rock City, Black Dada and Kidd Kidd, to name a few.
In 2010, Power Entertainment will continue to electrify music with upcoming projects for
Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Flo Rida, Trouble Andrew and more. While rewoP Music will solidify its place in history as the innovator of a new music fusion called Soul-Pop. Music lovers will get a fulfilling dose of Soul-Pop music with this week’s release of Priscilla Renea’s “Jukebox” and a first glance at her live show when she visits MTV’s “It’s On with Alexa Chung” on Wednesday at 3:30 pm EST.
