Unlike other types of coupons (print, direct mail, e-coupon), Perk Du Jour is subscriber-based only and thus has a direct connection with its community. “This means that only subscribers can get in on the deal,” said Schneider. “But for the merchants, it means that they can speak directly to our audience without competition from other advertisers. It’s like a one-on-one conversation.”
Merchants, called Perk Partners, who are part of the launch, include The Woodhouse Day Spa, voted Best of the City by Cincinnati Magazine; Essencha Tea House, the top spot in town for true tea lovers; and Cincinnati Ballroom Company, Cincinnati’s premier ballroom dance studio.
