Duplin Winery's Vice President of Retail Sales, Jonathan Fussell
Duplin Winery, located in Rose Hill, North Carolina, has gifted $37,892 to the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Proceeds from all distribution sales outlets throughout the state of North Carolina for purchases of Duplin wines made from September 1, 2009 - November 15, 2009 contributed to this unprecedented effort. Consumers became active participants by making a purchase of cool, sweet, and easy Duplin wines at North Carolina retail locations and restaurants.
“Duplin Winery could not be more pleased in the success of our fund raiser for UNC Children's Hospital. Our loyal consumers, distributors and retailers truly rallied around this great cause. During this time of financial shortages in most households, our fans came to the rescue of these wonderful children and the hospital that provides for their needs with such kindness and love,” Bill Hatcher, Duplin Winery Vice President of Sales. Mr. Hatcher played an integral role in initiating this unprecedented effort and was joined by Duplin Winery Retail Sales President, Jonathan Fussell, on November 19 to present the unconditional gift to the hospital.
Duplin Winery’s efforts coincided with the annual N.C. Children’s Promise fundraiser which raised over $1,000,000 for the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Duplin Winery was joined by other corporate sponsors and media partners at the Radiothon/Telethon event on November 19, including Talecris, Time Warner Cable, News 14 Carolina, Curtis Media, and the Chapel Hill Wine Company. The full day event was held at the North Carolina Children’s Hospital located at UNC-Chapel Hill and featured live broadcasts by 16 radio stations and News 14 Carolina. Live musical performances by Richie McDonald, Craig Morgan, Jason Michael Carroll, Eric Church, and Jake Owen were enjoyed by those who attended the event. Duplin Winery presented their gift to the NC Children’s Hospital in the hospital lobby on November 19th and participated in live interviews and celebrations.
