Dec. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- The UK’s leading discount code and voucher site www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, has urged people not to buy into this year “Christmas Fads” at a ridiculous price. The site which is the biggest and best of its kind in the UK has noticed an increasing trend in the number of people searching for items such as the Go Go Hamster on its site.

The new “It” toy is currently selling at £9.99 in most retailers but there have been concerns that the toy will run out before Christmas Day leaving many children disappointed. The toy was part of the top toy list for children this Christmas, dubbed the “Dream Dozen”, which was revealed late October. The list was:

Bakugan Battle Pack, Spin Master (£19.99)
Battle Strikers starter set, Mega Brands (£9.99)
Ben 10 Alien Force Kevins DX Action Cruiser, Bandai (£29.99)
Bendaroos Mega Pack, Spin Master (£19.99)
Go Go Pets Hamsters, Character Options (£9.99)
GX Racers Tightrope Terror, Flair (£22.99)
Kidizoom Multimedia Digital Camera, V-Tech (£49.99)
LEGO Games Minotaurus, Lego (£17.99)
Monopoly City, Hasbro (£24.99)
Princess Peppa's Palace, Character Options (£39.99)
Sylvanian Families Caravan, Flair (£44.99)
Transformers Movie 2 Voyagers Figures, Hasbro (£22.99)

Speaking of the prospect of a toy shortage, Mark Pearson, Managing Director of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk had this to say;

“I’m pretty sure that there are lots of parents who had hoped to buy this present for their child this Christmas, and the thought of not being able to must be very worrying for them. What people have to remember is that whilst the importance of providing the perfect gift may seem paramount it shouldn’t have to cost you a fortune.”

He continued;

“It wasn’t so long ago that we were all going crazy and paying over the odds for Buzz Lightyear and the chances are it will happen again with the Go Go Hamster, and then something else the year after that. Don’t pay over the odds for an item though, look on sites such as www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, where we have retailers listed that still sell the item at the RRP. Also, being organised and planning ahead will mean the difference between paying the right price and the over inflated one.”
