Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services on the Job
The South’s leading systems integrator, Blue Chip, has won a virtualisation contract with the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services (HFRS) to ensure the emergency service body meets its ‘business continuity’ compliance requirements.
Blue Chip implemented VMware’s vSphere4 server virtualisation solution to enable the fire service to move, manage, store and restore its critical data and servers with ease, while reducing their server count from 8 to 2.
This solution enables copies of critical information to be moved to other parts of the organisation to ensure business continuity, regardless of disaster.
In addition, HRFS have also experienced other benefits, such as reduced power consumption, reduced server management time and reduced management costs.
