Skyla Spencer Kicks Off a Benefit Concert & Scores a Nomination For New Music Weekly Awards-2009

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 2, 2009 - Winter Creek Recording Artist, Skyla Spencer, was the first artist to kick off the Family and Friendly Concert Series/Benefit Concert in Waldorf, MD on Nov.21,2009.  Skyla was honored with a plaque on the wall of My Brothers Place, in Southern Maryland, for kicking off the series. The Benefit was held to raise money for Big Brothers and Sisters of Southern Maryland. The organization seeks people who would like to serve as role models and mentors to children of all ages. “I was honored to be a part of this event and help bring awareness to the community.”

Skyla performed a 90 minute concert and followed the concert with a personal meet and greet with her fans. She sang her current single, “This Girl” which is presently climbing the Music Row charts. Her single reached number one on the Indie World Country Charts, reached top 50 of New Music Weekly Chart, and is also in top 50 on the Host Disc Country Charts overseas. She co-wrote the song with Heather Andrews. The song is dedicated to girls of all ages chasing dreams and searching for true love. The message is to never give up hope.  Her new single is available on I-tunes and CD Baby.  Skyla also choreographed a line-dance to her new single.
