TORONTO – A piece of Toronto history is about to get a hip new feel. The Great Hall, a 120-year old city landmark, will be home to the area’s hottest new boutique event concept as Fervent Events launches Keeping It Local In Toronto 416 (KILIT 416) this Thursday night.
“This 120-year old building is soon going to simply be the new place to be seen at in the trendy Queen Street West area, on a Thursday night” said Calum McGuigan, president of Fervent Events. “The owner has renovated the inside and we have an exciting new event that is going to take The Great Hall to new level. It’s a vintage venue, but for 120 years has been for private parties only. This is new territory for the place, and a great opportunity for Fervent Events.”
Located at Queen and Dovercourt, The Great Hall was built in 1889 and recently renovated to a more modern look and feel. For the first time in the venue’s long history, KILIT 416 will open the building as part of the area’s local bar scene. Launching the new vision and tradition of The Great Hall, the owners partnered with Fervent Events to create a very unique attraction for the trendy Queen Street West crowd.
“I like to think of the concept as dance culture meets boutique, and hope that KILIT 416 will set a new trend for Toronto party goers,” McGuigan said. “The plan is to open up a green room area come January and give local businesses the opportunity to showcase their products to revelers. This will give them an opportunity to showcase products in a different environment, as well as add another dimension to the usual night out. However, prior to that we are simply giving away gift certificates for local businesses as door prizes to slowly introduce the concept. In addition to great tunes and drinks, there will be plenty going on with extra zest from any other night. KILIT 416 will be the ultimate Thursday night fix.”
Along with Liberty Groups resident DJ Philthy Rich spinning 20 years of great house music, guests will be able to win gift certificates for their knowledge of quirky Toronto with $700 worth donated from supporting Queen Street merchants. Doors for KILIT 416 open at 10 p.m, with drink promos on offer for $4 before 11 p.m.
“It will be a fun time to kick off the weekend a day early,” McGuigan said. “Thursday night on Queen West is always fun, but I honestly feel KILIT 416 brings something new and unique, otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it.”
Limited guest list reservations are available for only $8 by emailing info@ferventevents.com. Otherwise, first-come-first-
