Commencing with a Carol Service at Newquay Zoo and family fun day on 13 December, the festival jumps into a series of live music events from 15 December. The centrepiece of the ‘12 Days’ celebrations, the three day Jazz and Ale Festival, starts on Friday 18 December. Dozens of local ales will be available to be sampled ranging from the Queen of Cornish Ale, Betty Stoggs, through to the unusually named and rather provocative Ginger Tosser.
For the festive foodie fan, the Newquay Food and Arts Fair takes place between 19 and 20 December, when a wide variety of quality Cornish producers will be offering up tasty treats, Christmas food deals and amazing gift ideas. Live cooking and cocktail demonstrations will be accompanied by sea shanty singing and a range of activity for children including face and mural painting.

About the Jazz and Ale Festival:
Starting on Friday 18th December from midday, the Ale Festival will be accompanied by live music from a variety of exciting local bands including APE, the Irish folk band The Black Friday, and The Cornish Wurzels. On the Saturday the Blue Reef rock pool centre will bring in a selection of creatures for children to handle from 12pm. This will be followed by a kids disco, giving mum and dad a chance to taste a selection of local beers as well as a wide variety of barbequed food. On the Sunday the Jazz and Ale Festival draws to a close, but not before a healthy session of Lunchtime Jazz, afternoon entertainment and a festive charity auction in the evening.
