AST Appointed Launch Distribution Partner for Inmarsat’s GSPS Service

Dec. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Applied Satellite Technology Ltd (AST), has today been appointed a launch Distribution Partner for Inmarsat’s new Global Satellite Phone Services (GSPS).

IsatPhone Pro, a global handheld service and the first new product in the GSPS portfolio, is planned to go live at the end of Q2 2010.

AST’s Managing Director, Gregory Darling said; “We’re delighted to be at the forefront of this exciting new handheld service, building on our relationship with Inmarsat and expanding our capability in the satellite phone market”.

Helen Stalker, Commercial Director for GSPS at Inmarsat said, “The global launch of IsatPhone Pro is on track, and appointing the distribution partners is a key milestone. AST has sold Inmarsat services since the early 90’s and has recently gained the accreditation of Distribution Partner for BGAN. This further appointment is a significant milestone for AST as it strengthens the relationship with Inmarsat and affirms AST’s status in the global satellite communications business.

30 years and is internationally recognised as the industry leader with a reputation for delivering consistently reliable services to a global market. With the successful launch and subsequent repositioning of the new I-4 satellites, Inmarsat also offers a global broadband service with up to 384kbps using compact portable terminals.
