(Washington, D.C.) GlobalSummit.org, a Web-based citizens’ action group, has extended the
submission deadline for its “Vision” video contest in response to a surge of interest within the online community.
GlobalSummit.org is a citizens’ effort to raise awareness about the need to establish long-term goals for future generations. Their online petition gives concerned citizens the opportunity to join others in the call for a global cease-fire followed by a global summit, where our leaders will discuss settling disputes with intelligence instead of warfare, establishing a long-term sustainable relationship with our environment and caring for each other as if borders no longer existed.
“We continue to move into the future without any globally agreed upon, long-term goals to guide us” said group founder Bob McCormick. “It is our hope that the winning video will help us imagine what we can accomplish if we use our potential, rather than our experience, to guide us.”
