Joseph T. Jacobsen Receives Approval for NJ Temporary Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP)

Dr. Joseph T. Jacobsen, P.G., president of Pipersville, PA-based INTEX Environmental Group, Inc., has received notification that he has been approved by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) as a Temporary Licensed Site Remediation Professional.  This approval positions Dr. Jacobsen as one of the few Pennsylvania environmental consultants to be approved thus far under the recently passed Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA).

The SRRA program is designed to allow private companies to self certify environmental investigations and remedial actions to help cut down on the state's backlog of site remediation cases and jump-start redevelopment of many underutilized properties.  By allowing private companies to remediate these areas and address the environmental concerns present, the state hopes to speed up the transformation of idle properties into productive land.

Dr. Jacobsen is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of INTEX Environmental Group, Inc.  As Principal-in-Charge, Dr. Jacobsen  provides administrative and technical oversight on all INTEX projects including geological, geophysical and remedial investigations; soil and groundwater treatment system design; site auditing, hazardous waste management; and air compliance.  Dr. Jacobsen is a Certified Professional Geologist with 20 years of professional environmental experience serving industrial, governmental, and private sector clients.  He is also a member of The New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professionals Association (LSRPA) and chairman of the Buckingham PA Environmental Advisory Committee.
