Text2Go, the popular text to speech application for Windows now supports the ability to automatically turn ebooks into audiobooks. Rather than having to read an ebook from a tiny screen, now you can listen to ebooks while commuting or enjoying a walk outside. The advantage of audiobooks is you can listen to them at times when it's impossible to read. Now you can pack more reading time into your day without sacrificing other activities.
Text2Go will read ebooks in the open ebook format, ePub, which is rapidly becoming the de facto standard for ebooks. Computerised speech (text to speech) is used to automatically convert the text of an ebook into spoken audio. If you have an iPod, Text2Go will produce an audiobook, complete with chapter marks and export it directly into iTunes. Alternatively, a series of mp3 files can be generated for those with other brands of MP3 players.
Text2Go costs US$25 or US$45 including a high quality voice that far surpasses the built-in Microsoft voices. There is a free 30-day trial which can be downloaded from http://www.text2go.com.
