In 2009, grain harvest in Ukraine will total 48 mln tonnes, declared Julia Timoshenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, on November 25.
According to the head of the government, in the current year Ukraine will again produce the record grain harvest after 2008 period – 53.3 mln tonnes. The quality of grains will exceed the previous year level.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy increased own grain harvest forecast for 2009 from 47 mln tonnes to 48 mln tonnes in clean weight at the expense
of maize volumes.
