OMAHA, NEBRASKA – A new storybook book publisher wants to build a one-of-a-kind storybook for your child or grandchild. MarbleSpark’
Each book features a professionally bound hardcover with the child’s name on it. “It took me 30 years to see my name on a book -- all so other kids wouldn’t have to wait that long,” said Haussler.
“There’s nothing cooler for kids than to read a book about themselves and know that it was created just for them. And for parents – naming a child is such a personal and emotional thing -- they’re touched to see it memorialized in a book.” Comments on the company’s Facebook fan page confirm the book is moving some parents to tears.
The book was written for kids between 0 – 10 years old. According to Haussler, “It’s meant to grow along with the child. Babies love the illustrations and verse. Toddlers learn to recognize and spell their name. Older kids get a geography lesson and love finding the hidden items in each illustration. But we’ve also had customers older than 60 buying book for themselves.”
Haussler recently launched MarbleSpark after four years of product development with two partners from the Kansas City, Missouri area: Brad Sneed and Ken Wiebke. The book took Sneed – an illustrator (and sometimes author) of over 20 children’s books – more than 2 years to illustrate. Wiebke spent over a year developing the technology to build and customize the book.
