What happening?

Future of the division: New Orleans' Drew Brees and Carolina's Jake Delhomme are the veterans of the division, but in this matchup you'll see the future in Falcons second-year quarterback Matt Ryan and Tampa Bay rookie quarterback Josh Freeman. Ryan had thrown 10 interceptions in the five previous games before nearly leading a major comeback against the New York Giants and pulling out of his slump. He directed four second-half scoring drives and seemed to regain his accuracy.

Piece together a running attack: Jason Snelling filled in admirably for Michael Turner last week, running hard for 76 yards on 25 carries. He also caught three passes for 13 yards. The running game could get a lift from the return of Jerious Norwood (hip flexor). He returned to practice last week, but has not played in the last five games. It appears that Turner will miss his second consecutive game with a high ankle sprain.

Which team will show up?: The Falcons started the season 4-1, but have dropped four of their last five to sink to 5-5. Any playoffs aspirations would go out the window with a loss to Tampa Bay. The Falcons return home for a three-week stretch after a tough stretch of seven games where they played four teams coming off their bye weeks. Under second-year coach Mike Smith, the Falcons are 11-1 in the Georgia Dome, including a 4-0 mark this season.
