Eid ul- Adha ("Festival of Sacrifice") or "Greater" Eid is a holiday celebrated by muslims around the world to commemorate the willingness of prophit Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. Dubai is known to celebrate the holidays and festivals in the best manner. Today's event was held in Jumeira which is considered the most happening area in the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Butti Bin Suhail Al Maktoum has opened the festival with the prayers and by delivering the key note to the attendees. He advised muslims to share these moments of joy with all including those who belong to other religions but they chose to call Dubai their home. His Highness Sheikh Butti Bin Suhail Al Maktoum also announced to give one million dirham worth of gifts to those who couldn't afford to buy for themselves. The cheque of 1 Million AED was handed over to the charity to buy the right gifts and send to the deserving people.
This two days festival offers all kind of fun activities to people of all ages coming from various back grounds. The organizers are requesting residents and visitors to come and enjoy the Eid Festival in Jumeira.
