Co-written by Ke$ha, Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco, the song was released digitally on August 7 and was sent to U.S. radio on October 5, 2009. It has found success in Australia, Canada and New Zealand where it became a number one hit on each of their national charts. On the week ending October 24, 2009, "Tik Tok" made debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at number seventy nine. It has so far peaked at number five.
Kesha Rose Sebert, known by the stylized stage name/mononym Ke$ha, is an American singer–songwriter. Although she began her music career in 2006, her breakthrough only came in early 2009 after appearing on Flo Rida's number one single, "Right Round." Sebert's debut single, "TiK ToK" was later released in October 2009, preceding the release of her debut album, Animal, in 2010.
