The spectacle of the chariot racing that was an integral part of Ben Hur is due to be recreated in Barcelona in just a few short weeks.
A truly visual spectacle, the showcase is due to take place at the city's Palau Sant Jordi and will feature light, sounds, pyrotechnics and breathtaking stunts.
The show has been some 15 years in the making and coincides with the 50th anniversary of the launch of the film of the same name.
Featuring more than 400 actors and performers - as well as 100 animals, including horses, falcons, eagles and camels - the showcase is based on the story of Ben Hur, which tells the tale of the Jewish prince at the beginning of the 1st century.
Of course, the highlight of the show is the famous chariot race, which sees five quadrigas battle it out in a race around the floor of the Palau Sant Jordi, which will no doubt delight those in attendance and staying in hotels in Barcelona.
The showcase takes place in the city on December 26th at 21:00 local time, as well as twice on December 27th, at 16:00 and 21:00 local time. Tickets can be booked now and range in price from €35 (£31.46) to €110.
