This poster advertised a benefit show for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee that was held at the Fillmore Auditorium on November 20, 1966. This show played an important role in the early San Francisco scene as it featured an appearance by Stokely Carmichael, the well-known 1960s activist in the American civil rights movement. Also appearing at this event were The James Cotton Blues Band and Quicksilver Messenger Service. This important and historic poster realized a record price of $8,250.
