San Ramon, CA – Validare is expanding its relationship with additional top tier insurance companies across the country. The newest state for contracting with a major national insurance payer is Virginia. The Virginia-based health plan has issued a provider agreement for our first accredited OBS there and is proposing to pay surgical suite fees in addition to usual professional fees. Major payors are seeing the value of using surgical suite fees as an incentive to encourage more outpatient surgical and endoscopic procedures to be performed in accredited Office-Based Surgery suites. The value for payors and patients is that the procedures can be safely performed in accredited office settings and are performed at a much lower cost compared to outpatient hospital settings.
Contracts with major payors are established on a state-by-state basis. Validare is actively working with representatives in other states to bring the value of accredited office-based surgery to them as well. Currently, Validare has facilitated contracts with over 30 insurance plans, including major national payors, Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, regional payors and national PPO networks. Multiple payor agreements have been contracted in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia.
