$6000 Per Wedding Reception DJ Peter Merry takes keen interest in Ra-Mu and the Crew

California Wedding DJ Peter Merry evidently must be experiencing a slow season as he spends most of his free time watching Ra-Mu and the Crew video clips on you tube and critiquing them. Boston wedding DJ Ra-Mu is does not know what to make of this.

Nov. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- Boston and RI Wedding DJ Ra-Mu starts everyday Saturday morning with returning the days emails and preparing for the 2010 season.  Last Saturday morning, Ra-Mu was greeted via email with interesting commentary regarding one of his many You Tube wedding clips.

"I opened my email to read a rant about how I introduced the bridal party at one recent wedding reception", says Ra-Mu.  "There was another rant for another video clip about why I wasn't wearing a suit jacket while lining up the bridal party in the bridal suite.  Both of these comments came at 7am EST which means that a certain California DJ was really bored at 4am."

Not one to back down from derogatory feedback, Ra-Mu professionally replied via text comment on you tube.  The email thread is provided below for the general public to decide what was really going on.

"Peter Merry is a well known DJ across the country that serves as keynote speaker at DJ conventions on both coasts.  He boasts a $6000 per reception fee due to his popular demand.  So why would he spend so much time critiquing me at 4am", inquires Ra-Mu.  "Could it be that the great Peter Merry feels threatened?  I'm not sure but many of my peer group seem to think so."  "Peter is more than welcome to fly out to New England and express his thoughts in person...that's when I'm no busy doing a function", says Ra-Mu. "The You Tube commentary is a little immature coming from some 40 something year old DJ".  "If Peter is making $6000 per reception, should he be on his yacht or something?" chuckles Ra-Mu.

When asked if he would ever charge $6000 for a wedding reception, Ra-Mu states "If Peter ever had the guts to challenge me to a MC/DJ competition and lost, I guess I would have to start charging $6001 the following week.  Right now, I think that my clients are happy with our reasonable pricing.  Anytime Peter wants to step up his game, he knows how to reach me!"

Below you'll find the witty banter between Peter and Ra-Mu.  Start reading the thread from the bottom or click on the link below. Enjoy!

RamuTheDJ (12 hours ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply Boston Brides, one day I hope to be like Peter Merry so I can charge $6000 a wedding and then watch someone else's clips and take notes
RamuTheDJ (12 hours ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply You are commenting on my you tube clips at 11pm at night which means that you are stalking me or not getting enought gigs
RamuTheDJ (12 hours ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply Hey Peter,
you must be really bored in California because all you seem to do is watch my you tube clips
petermerryjr (13 hours ago) Show Hide  0   Marked as spam Reply And yes...you made my "good DJ" radar...you are a good DJ...not a great DJ...and a below average MC IMO. A spin-off won't prove the full scope of one's talent when it comes to a wedding. Wanna prove you are the best...create enormous demand that will allow you to outbook your local competitors at 4-5 times their average prices...then you put yourself on the cover of Time magazine as the best DJ in Boston.
petermerryjr (14 hours ago) Show Hide  0   Marked as spam Reply So if you had added even the simplest layer of personalization to their introductions...the food would have been late? Wow! Funny...I thought it was the Bride & Groom's celebration...not the caterers. If a full dance floor is the only criteria...then you win. Don't change a thing. If creating the most fun in the most personalized way possible is the criteria...you are losing big time.

Spin off? Really? Come on...this is their wedding...not the DJ Times DJ Entertainer of the Year Competition.
RamuTheDJ (3 days ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply Peter, I have to hand it to you. You are paying more attention to this clip than your wife. Connecting the dots would have delayed the food for the facility. Dance floor was packed all night. Job well done again. Maybe you can fly from California and we can have a DJ Spinoff.

When I win, you wont be so "merry",
petermerryjr (3 days ago) Show Hide  0   Marked as spam Reply Ra-Mu...yes...you got their names correct...kudos to you. You have now delivered a grand entrance that is better than 20% of the wedding DJs out there. But put yourself in the guests shoes...do they all know how those wedding party members are connected to the Bride and Groom? How much effort would it have taken to find out and connect those dots for the guests? Are you just too lazy to be a good MC...or could it be that you are not being paid enough to do your job well?
RamuTheDJ (4 days ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply If you want to spend $6000 on a wedding dj, please call Peter Merry. If not, Ra-Mu and the Crew's 2010 pricing is still affordable.
RamuTheDJ (4 days ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply For those of you watching this clip, Peter Merry Jr. is some hotshot DJ from California that charges $6000 a wedding. I met him once at a DJ convention and bought his book. If he is giving me feedback on youtube on a Saturday morning, I myust be on the "good DJ" radar.

RamuTheDJ (4 days ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply Actually the Tirrell room in Quincy is a very nice place and why not greet the crowd and show appreciation that they are there. Without them, there is no reception.

As the video shows, I pronounce names quite well but why have the same monotone introduction for every member of the bridal party.
petermerryjr (4 days ago) Show Hide  0   Marked as spam Reply Let's start a fun drinking game...

Everytime Ra-Mu says "Ladies & Gentlemen", "At This Time", or "Big Round of Applause"...you have to take a shot.

"These people?" You mean the Bride & Groom? Have you fogotten their names already?

And why should people applaud themselves for coming out to the Terrell Room in Quincy? Is that an unusual accomplishment of some kind? I don't get why I would want to applaud myself as a guest for that???
