Today’s Caregiver magazine and Cargiver.com will host a complementary “day of sharing wisdom” with the Fearless Caregiver Conference on December 2nd from 8:30am to 2:30pm at Club Med Port St. Lucie. Assistant Secretary for Aging Kathy Greenlee will keynote the day’s event.

Regardless of the disease or illness with which their loved one is dealing, attendees will receive hands-on advice about their caregiving challenges, learn techniques for becoming a fearless member of their loved one’s care team, learn about the resources available both locally and nationally as well as survival strategies for beating stress, depression and other challenges faced by caregivers.

Kathy Greenlee was appointed by President Barack Obama as the fourth Assistant Secretary for Aging at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and confirmed by the Senate in June 2009. Prior to becoming Assistant Secretary, Ms. Greenlee served as Secretary of Aging for the state of Kansas. Before her tenure as the Secretary of Aging, Ms. Greenlee served as State Long-Term Care Ombudsman in Kansas, and the state's Assistant Secretary of Aging. Ms. Greenlee also served as general counsel at the Kansas Insurance Department. During her tenure there, she led the team of regulators who evaluated the proposed sale of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas, and oversaw the Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas program. Greenlee also served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Operations for then Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
