British Military Fitness (BMF) instructors from all over the UK recently took part in a calendar photo shoot all in support of the charity Help for Heroes, which raises money for members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in service of their country.
The BMF instructors, all ex or currently serving armed forces physical training instructors congregated at Clapham Common to take part in the shoot with models also dedicating their free time to be involved the project.
The calendar was the original idea of four long standing BMF members from Clapham Common who believed that the instructors were fantastic role models who had all served for their countries and are now reintegrated into civilian life helping their local communities to get fit and healthy. “The calendar was an idea the four of us came up with over drinks after a muddy BMF session at Clapham and it’s great to see that so many people donated their time and money for us to achieve our goal! The BMF instructors are very passionate about what they do and many people forget that they have all served for their country, some in very front line positions. This calendar enabled them to support Help for Heroes to help their wounded friends and colleagues,”
Robin Cope, Managing Director at BMF, was thrilled to see that so many of the instructors were interested in taking part, “over 70 of our instructors put themselves forward to take part in the photo shoot and this was whittled down to 19. Help for Heroes is a charity close to BMF as we have all served for our country and this charity really seems to be making a difference with the projects they have set up including Combat Stress and the Headley Court Rehab centre.”
A total of 19 instructors from across the UK took part in the calendar, spanning from Edinburgh to Portsmouth and with over 15,000 members, BMF hope that they will sell hundreds of calendars. Each calendar will be sold for £9.20 plus postage, with £8 of every sale donated to Help for Heroes.
