For those looking for entertainment a bit off the beaten path, Landfall Productions today released three titles on the Amazon.com Video On Demand service. The programs include two award winning documentaries and one feature film. Shopping for VOD movies is similar to shopping for music on iTunes. Titles may be searched at Amazon.com VOD and either rented for seven days or purchased for inclusion in users media libraries. The new Landfall offerings are:
"A Passion for Sustainability"
"The Waldorf Promise" - This CINE Golden Eagle Award winning documentary explores how teachers in seven different public schools across the country apply the teaching methods of Waldorf education in their classrooms. "Every parent, teacher and adult who wants children to relish their education needs to see this video." - Margaret Wheatley, Ed.D and Author of "Leadership and the New Science.
"Director's Cut: Metalface" - This low budget feature won Best Horror-Comedy at FrightFest back in 2003 and is a perfect diversion from mainstream Hollywood horror fare. Ryan Cracknell (MovieView Reviews) said, "Director's Cut: Metalface" plays as a spoof of the horror spoofs such as Scary Movie and Not Another Teen Movie. Its gimmick that sets it apart from the rest of the Hollywood lot? It's not Hollywood. The budget appears smaller, much smaller. Plus it doesn't degrade itself to jokes revolving strictly around boobs, smells and drugs. It's not quantum physics but Director's Cut: Metalface is definitely more intelligent than its blockbuster cousins."
Landfall Productions, Inc. produces and distributes its films from its base in Portland, Oregon. The company's President, Eric Stacey writes, directs and produces for Landfall and is currently preparing the company's second feature film, Sandbox, an independent drama about an Iraq war vet who returns home to wrestle the effects of PTSD. The film is slated to begin production in mid-2010.
