While a quality fire protection system is a vital step, it’s also advisable to consider solutions which expand beyond a standalone product in order to provide businesses with a more comprehensive and structured system as part of their fire protection strategy.
Designed specifically for small to medium facilities, leading fire protection specialist Wormald offers an end-to-end approach to fire protection with its VIGILANT® MX1 fire detection and alarm system, featuring MX Technology®. In addition to providing the product, Wormald can offer an initial review of a company’s fire risk, design of an effective and affordable solution, as well as installation, testing and on-going maintenance of the chosen system. Consequently, Wormald can provide a tailored system to suit individual requirements, offering peace of mind for businesses.
Wormald’s MX Technology® utilises the latest global technology to provide a sophisticated, reliable and robust fire detection system. MX Technology® systems offer an accurate response to potential fires, while reducing costs to building owners with their excellent false alarm immunity.
The VIGILANT® MX1 fire detection and alarm system is simple to operate, cost-effective and offers smaller businesses the benefit of a number of advanced features commonly found in larger and more complex systems. A totally flexible option, once installed, the existing MX detectors may easily be adapted to suit changing or growing businesses without being physically replaced. Supporting up to 250 separate devices on a single digital loop, or up to 500 devices with an optional second loop, the analogue addressable loops reduce installation costs and deliver an integrated and versatile system.
The VIGILANT® MX1 system supports MX Technology® fuzzy-logic detection algorithms which continuously analyse data signals from the installed MX detectors across the system, promptly identifying genuine fires while reducing the occurrence of nuisance alarms. Another strength of the sophisticated technology is the ability to integrate a range of different detectors, for example a triple-sensor detector which incorporates photoelectric smoke, carbon monoxide and heat sensing. The system is straightforward to program using the SmartConfig Windows®-based software, readily available to system integrators. The system’s dual database structure allows updated site-specific configurations to be downloaded while still maintaining full operation.
Designed locally and based on international standards, VIGILANT® MX1 system complies with the new ISO Standard, AS 7240.2 (Fire detection and alarm systems – Control and indicating equipment). In addition, it features an integral Fire Brigade Panel to AS 4428.3 (Fire detection, warning, control and intercom systems – Control and indicating equipment – Fire brigade panel), for a standard interface allowing fire fighters easy view and control in an alarm situation.
