Nov. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- Visiting Chesterford Research Park on Friday 20th November, you would be forgiven for thinking you had stumbled across the latest set for the blockbuster movie Pirates of the Caribbean, rather than a state-of-the-art research park!

Led by their Captain, Park Manager Katherine Maguire, the team at Chesterford – dressed as befits a pirate’s crew in an assortment of guises from First Mate to Cabin Boy - spent the day raising as much money for Children in Need as possible.

Collection buckets were out in abundance with everyone entering or leaving the Park being asked to donate what they could.  The restaurant team also joined in serving a ‘pirate’ themed menu which included delicacies such as ‘Black Beards breakfast’, ‘Hooks bean hotpot’ and ‘Walk the Plank trifle’!

An impressive ‘Pirates of Chesterford Park’ banner, a canon, boat and treasure chest set the scene for those visiting the central Nucleus facilities throughout the day.

Park Manager Katherine Maguire commented: “The team at the Park love any excuse to get dressed up and Children in Need was the perfect opportunity!  We have a great team spirit here and I think it shows on days such as this.  Of course we couldn’t do it without the support of our Park tenants and visitors who gave very generously this year.  We also have the The Design Business and Nikwood Display to thank for their kind donation of the marvellous display banner”.

Team members from Security, Catering, Maintenance and the Fitness suite all took part to help raise a grand total of £1,036.
