Looking for ways to get into the festive spirit this year? Then what could be better than an event that enables you to get in some gentle exercise, lots of laughs, some dressing up,and the heart warming feeling of helping your local hospice?
Grove House Hospice is holding their first Jingle Bell Jog in Verulamium Park, St Albans at 11.00am on Sunday 6 December.
Jingle Bell joggers can choose from a gentle 2k route around the lake suitable for pushchairs or a more strenuous 3k route. Joggers will be provided with Santa Suits for the grown ups and jingle bell head boppers for the children.
Sarah Jane Honeywell children’s TV presenter and star of the St Alban’s pantomime will be starting the inaugural Jingle Bell Jog and says, “I was delighted to be asked to start the first ever Grove House Jingle Bell Jog having heard about the work of the hospice I was keen to lend my support to the charity. The event sounds like it is going to be great fun and I am looking forward to seeing everyone dressed in their reindeer ears and santa suits on the 6 December.”
There will also be a visit from Father Christmas himself. Children will be able to visit Father Christmas in his Grotto at the Inn on the Park.
Entry into the Jingle Bell Jog costs just £10 per adult and £5 per child. A visit to the grotto costs just £5 per child and includes a gift from Father Christmas. All monies raised on the day and from sponsorship will go directly to support the work of Grove House Hospice which cares for people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
Paul Parrish Fundraising Director for Grove House Hospice says, “We are really excited about our first Jingle Bell Jog following on from the success of our Midnight Walk and HERTS 10k event we wanted to create an event that would allow all the family from toddlers to grand parents a chance to take part in.”
