Munich/Hallbergmoos, November 24 – Unified communications specialist ANDTEK created a solution allowing a fast, automatic and error free administration of complex IP telephony environments. Benefit: The user saves a lot of time and consequently an important amount of money and on top of this increases quality.
In a complex communications network there are permanently modifications. For example the administrator has to install new IP phones with different parameters, has to activate different communications services or has to add and delete IP phone users. These typical jobs also called IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Disposal) have usually to be done by qualified support staff.
ANDTEK’s software solution “AND Phone Provisioning”
This works as follows: The user defines on a web interface which jobs have to be carried out. The complete installation or change process is started only by a mouse click. The administrator is not involved anymore since the entire process is running automatically in the background - no matter if services are installed/deleted or parameters are changed.
For example the user data of a new staff member is automatically configured in the active directory including the requested phone number and department. The IP phone is configured on the communications manager and additional phone applications are automatically activated on the application server.
That way new users can be added quickly and all required components within the network can be updated automatically. This saves time and money. In a complex network a qualified administrator needs about 45 minutes to install a new IP phone work place with additional services. “Using our provisioning solution the required time is reduced to about 5 minutes“, says Roland Russwurm. Qualified personnel can use the saved time elsewhere in the company in a more effective way, explains the ANDTEK manager.
