DressmakerInABox.com, a web based fashion company, has proved that combining excellent clothing design and artistic photography will create something unlike anything you'll find on the racks. The new DressmakerInABox.com winter line, which was officially released today, incorporates still life photographic images on the fabric of the collars and cuffs for a tailored and artistic look.
"Nothing is more beautiful than nature itself," says Michele Battise, CEO and founder of DressmakerInABox.com. "We decided to use the next best thing in our new line -- fabrics made with photographs for a noticeable and realistic look."
The centerpiece of the collection, a black jacket that can be worn as a dress with a 50's vibe, has a contrasting collar and pockets, which are trimmed in photo art images of calla lillies. The line also includes a vibrant blue women's suit, which has a large round pleated collar featuring a kaleidoscope of roses.
DressmakerInABox.com partners with talented local artisans from the Oakland-San Francisco Bay area including photo-artist, Heidi Rand, of Garden Delights. Rand's skillful work was the inspiration for the line and the two together are set to collaborate on other projects in the future.
One of DressmakerInABox.com's major objectives is to stylishly dress women of all sizes, filling a void in the marketplace. Many boutiques and high-fashion designers don't carry sizes above 14.
"We offer a custom-fit clothing option for all pieces our company produces -- from petite to plus size -- unlike a lot of other designers and boutiques," says Battise.
