Commencing on the Friday the festival starts with a seasonal market, which takes place in the town’s market square. In the early evening the magical parade of paper and willow lanterns, many of which are crafted by local school children, will weave its way through the historical town’s labyrinth of winding streets, serenaded by live musical accompaniment.
Following the end of the procession Dartmouth’s boutiques will open their doors for late night pre-Christmas shopping while local restaurants will offer candlelit dinners overlooking the stunning Devon town.
On the Saturday the second day of the festival begins with the opening of the Christmas and farmers market. This is followed by a musical extravaganza that will see both percussion and samba pieces performed by an array of local artists who will parade throughout the town alongside street performers. Candlelit dinners bring proceedings to romantic conclusion.
