A UK swimwear supplier has developed a range of beachwear designed to help people cover up their modesty and still catch an all-over tan.
With clothing-optional beaches in sharp decline, English manufacturer Kiniki is determined to help bathers fulfil naked ambitions by covering up with cossies and togs that let the right amount of sun in but keep you covered up.
“We have nothing against nudism but we are proud our costumes give sun worshippers the choice,” says John Walker, founder of Kiniki.
“Our tan-through designs fit like a second skin and we think they are the next best thing to being naked.”
Kiniki’s patented fabric is made up of a fine mesh covered in an optical illusion of patterns, meaning that while it is effectively see-through, the wearer’s privates are kept private.
“This is a chance for the more modest to cover up while also getting a great tan, which is why the range has already been such a massive hit in the UK this summer,” says Walker.
“Even in parts of the world where they have a more relaxed view of stripping off for the sauna or braving the beach in the buff, there will be times when you can’t go topless, so go tan-through.”
