Nov. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- Running throughout NZ and internationally, businesses enter by nominating themselves and explaining why they want to win a website.  The competition closes on 31 December and ten contestants are short listed via the website www.websitemakeoverproject.com.  Public votes then determine the business most deserving of winning.

The company developed the competition to support developing businesses.  “In these tough economic times, businesses need a hand to get going and in this competition it’s up to the public to determine who needs a website the most.   It is pivotal that a new business has a strong web presence, “ says Michal Wurm, managing director of Digital Arts.

Findings released by American City Business Journals report that small businesses who use the internet grow 46 percent faster than businesses who do not use it.  Professor Allan Bell of Auckland University of Technology Auckland reports that as a source of information, the internet is rated of higher importance than newspapers or television.

“Any business focused on growth cannot ignore the impact of the internet and continued growth of internet users.  Businesses who do not embrace and incorporate the internet into their marketing strategy will be left behind.  This competition is a way for a deserving business to gain the internet advantage at no cost, ” explains Mr Wurm.

Mr Wurm recently became an Inbound Marketing Certified Professional after successfully passing final exams at the Inbound Marketing University - a marketing retraining programme for industry professionals.  The university is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and has trained 800 people worldwide since 2006.  Mr Wurm is one of only a few New Zealanders to hold this qualification.

Mr Wurm moved from the Czech Republic to establish Digital Arts in NZ in 2004.  The company works specifically in web design, graphic design and multimedia.   Mr Wurm has completed projects for a marketing company, whose clients include Toyota, Saatchi and Saatchi and Mark BBDO in Prague.  Digital Arts also produce Airways magazine, a publication for aviation engineers, pilots and aviation enthusiasts.  It has a print run of 35,000 per month and is circulated to over 70 countries.
