The Zodiac Theory, a collection of t-shirts for men and women which display short phrases based on personality traits and characteristic modes of expression. T-shirts are available online for each of the 12 zodiac signs.
The concept behind The Zodiac Theory is the creation of Robert Wicker. After returning from a trip to Las Vegas this summer. He began writing phrases for the various traits. Zodiac signs were chosen because of their broad appeal. The T-shirts are great in social settings, such as benefit walks, birthday celebrations or festivals. With the zodiac signs on the back, and a trait on the front, it gives people much to talk about.
“The idea to start a zodiac T-shirt line came in December 2007. But, I didn’t act on it, so the idea faded into memory,” says Robert Wicker, owner, The Zodiac Theory. “I was in Las Vegas this summer with friends. And was amazed at the size and grandeur of the hotels. I was inspired, I came back to Atlanta and began working on what would become The Zodiac Theory.”
Back in Atlanta, Wicker began writing the phrases. Most originated from him, the rest were phrases he heard growing up. The phrases are a nonverbal form of self-expression. They’re short and catchy, subtle, but not obvious. This approach allows the reader to use their imagination.
“In the 21st century we text more, but talk less. Through social networking, we’re constantly reading something someone wrote. This is their means to express themselves. The Zodiac Theory is a product of its time, where text plays a major role in how we communicate.”
The zodiac constellations are only visible at night. The T-shirts are offered in black only, to reflect this. Black represents night, white represents the stars. The men t-shirts have a relaxed fit, the women T-shirts have a form-fitting fit. High quality flex is used for the printing.
“The T-shirts are meant to help people feel good about themselves. When you feel good about yourself, that energy is transferred into everything you do. So if a T-shirt can change someone’s day for the better, it benefits us all.”
