Knoxville, TN—TrakLokTM Corporation (TrakLok), of Knoxville, Tennessee, won the business plan pitch competition for seed and early stage companies at ThrottleUp 2009. By winning the pitch competition, TrakLok received $1,000 award and the chance to present before the newly created TNInvestco venture capital funds. ThrottleUp is part of The Innovation Imperative, a three day conference celebrating the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tennessee, and the Tennessee New Innovation Pitch Competition, a network of pitch competitions from around the state of Tennessee. The winner of ThrottleUp received a cash prize of $1,000 and has the opportunity to present before the newly formed Tennessee Investment Companies (TNInvestcos)
ThrottleUp is a competition designed to be an educational experience. Although the competition includes a traditional company pitch, the format also includes direct feedback from a number of judges on the strong points of the pitch and what could be improved. “We were very thrilled with the way ThrottleUp 2009 turned out. Out of six excellent companies chosen to present, TrakLok rose to the top. We believe ThrottleUp helped all of the companies to be in a better position raise the necessary capital to grow their businesses here in East Tennessee,” said Shawn Carson of Tech2020’s Center for Entrepreneurial Growth.
“We are thrilled about winning the competition. On top of our similar win at Five Ventures business plan competition earlier this year, it is quite an honor and a public recognition of the hard work of our leadership team.” said Dobson.
